Photo Walks & Hikes

Walks

Starting at $75/person

For those seeking a relaxed but inspiring experience, I host photo walks in beautiful, accessible locations. These walks are perfect for practicing photography in a real-world setting, offering a chance to refine your skills while surrounded by the tranquility of nature. In an informal and small group setting, we’ll explore local areas, focusing on the art of seeing and capturing the moment. The pace is casual, allowing for creative spontaneity and interactive learning, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share insights, and connect with other photography enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking to learn new techniques or simply want to spend a few hours immersed in nature with your camera, these photo walks offer a refreshing blend of education and enjoyment. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or stay tuned for the latest schedule and destinations by signing up for my mailing list.

Photo Walk Locations

Walks are generally hosted within a 15-mile radius of Mercer County Park. Exceptions include Philadelphia, New York City, Newark and New Brunswick. Walks can take place on a broad variety of terrains, but are generally on flat, even ground, such as paved walkways, or flat trails. Photography walks are generally conducted on public, free-to-access areas. Should an area require an entry fee, that will be indicated in the details of the walk.

Hikes (My personal favorite)

Starting at $75/person
(limited to 10 people)

For those craving adventure and a deeper connection with nature, my photography hikes take us off the beaten path to stunning and inspiring landscapes. This is my personal favorite learning experience that I offer. These hikes are designed for established and aspiring photographers who want to challenge themselves and their creativity, whether on an easy trail or a more demanding route. Expect to traverse a variety of natural settings, from lush forests to rugged mountains, with trails ranging from easy strolls to moderate or challenging routes involving rock scrambles.

Photography hikes are a rain-or-shine commitment, so participants must come prepared to protect themselves and their gear from the elements. The goal is to embrace the unpredictable beauty of nature, capturing moments as they unfold, no matter the weather. In these immersive, small-group experiences, we’ll focus on slowing down, observing light and detail, and crafting compelling images that tell the story of the environment. Like the photo walks, the hikes maintain a collaborative and small group atmosphere, with plenty of room for personalized guidance and shared insights.

If you’re ready to step into the wild with your camera, sign up for my mailing list to receive updates on upcoming hikes and their difficulty levels. Alternatively, you can contact me and I’ll add your name to the list so you don’t miss an opportunity. Each hike will include detailed information about what to expect, so you can choose the adventure that’s right for you. Please note that additional fees, such as travel expenses or entry permits, may apply for one-on-one or couples hikes.

Note: at this time I am working on becoming certified in a wilderness first-aid/first-responder capacity. I plan on achieving WFA (Wilderness First-Aid) certification within the first quarter of 2025, and continuing on to achieve WAFA (Wilderness Advanced First Aid) by the end of 2025. The current goal is to achieve WFR (Wilderness First Responder) certification before 2027.
I will be achieving these certifications through either NOLS, Wilderness Medical Associates International, or a combination of the two.
